Dealing with vaccines is a hassle for doctors. Not only do docs have to store vaccines in the office (typically in a refrigerator), they also have to front the money. So it s no surprise that many physicians have worried about getting reimbursed for Gardasil, Merck s cervical cancer vaccine that retails for more than $100 a dose.In response, Merck recently promised doctors a free, replacement dose of Gardasil, if insurance refuses to cover a shot.
