In Annual Ritual, Medicare Proposes 9.9% Cut for Docs

The federal government said today that it would cut by nearly 10% the amount it pays to doctors and other health care providers next year. Then again, the government says that sort of thing every year, before Congress intervenes to prevent dramatic reductions. In announcing the changes, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (a.k.a. CMS) is following Congressional guidelines intended to slow the rise of health-care costs.
