Bebe Moore Campbell was a bestselling author despite and perhaps because of recurrent depression, who sadly passed away from brain cancer in 2006. She was a tireless mental health advocate in her community and through her writing. Her accomplishments include the novel 72 Hour Hold, the play Even With the Madness, and the award-winning children s book Sometimes My Mommy Gets Angry, about a young girl whose mother has bipolar disorder.
